A gorge stretch of the Júcar at Jalance with its own viewpoint and a trail along the cliffs, deep in the valley.

Open in Google Maps

The Cañones del Júcar as they pass Jalance form a gorge stretch with sheer cliffs over the river, in the Valle de Cofrentes-Ayora. The village has a dedicated viewpoint on the Camino de los Baños and a trail running along the shore beneath the crags.

The viewpoint and the trail

The coordinates of this point mark the viewpoint, not the canyon floor: it is an outing for looking and strolling, under an hour, rather than a long trail. The local PR-CV 219 trail has lost its approval, so do not use it for planning and keep to the signposted local path. Wear grippy footwear, as the rock by the viewpoint is polished by foot traffic.

Tips for your visit

There is no verified signposted car park, so leave the car in the village without blocking the way. The trip leaves time to combine with Requena and the Hoces del Cabriel, more inland gorges. You can only get there by car, and there is no confirmed information about bathing.
