In the historic centre of Biar stands the Asunción church, the town parish. It is a late-Gothic church from the 15th century, later given a Plateresque portal dated 1519 and a Baroque tower.

History

The church went up in the 15th century, when Biar was a frontier town between crowns. The 1519 portal and the later Baroque tower show the extensions the church received as the town grew.
