History
The Dominican convent went up at the end of the 16th century. In 2002 the building became a museum of the festival, which UNESCO placed on its intangible heritage list in 2011. The festival takes place every 7 and 8 September and dates back to the 13th century, linked to the finding of the image in 1247 recalled by the Troballa chapel.
What to see
The display covers the events: the muixerangues (human towers), els bastonets, the Volta Gran and the procession. Costumes, instruments and photographs explain each group. The cloister keeps the atmosphere of the original building.
Tips for your visit
- Visit it before the basilica of San Jaime to understand the festival.
- Allow about one hour to see it at ease.
