Paraje del Río Sellent
Three linked pools of the Sellent in Bolbaite, with a wooden bridge, picnic lawns and the 25 m Gorgo Cadena; check access before visiting.
The Sellent river site lies inside the village of Bolbaite, about 84 km from València towards Xàtiva. The Sellent is a tributary of the Júcar that splits the village into two quarters joined by two bridges. Under the Old Bridge ducks, geese and large carp swim, and upstream the recreational area starts with three linked pools. The first is round, with fountains and a picnic lawn; the second, rectangular and large, is crossed by an arched wooden bridge; the third keeps its natural state. In summer the water level is managed and renewed. In the same district you have Los Charcos in Quesa and the Anna 3-waterfalls route.
Gorgo Cadena and Gorgo Caracol
Upstream, a stone stairway through vegetation leads to Gorgo Caracol, a small pool by a spring, and at the end to Gorgo Cadena: a rock corridor of about 25 m of clear water where you can swim to a submerged cave. The bottom is visible from the surface and the flat rock at the edge works for leaving towels.
Booking and rules
The bathing area is described on the official tourism page, and a municipal ordinance regulates bathing, fires and camping. Check the booking before leaving and respect the capacity: in summer it gets crowded. Do not light fires or camp outside what is allowed, and never jump from the bridge or the high rocks of Gorgo Cadena.
