The Torre del Rey is the 16th-century watchtower guarding the coast south of the old town of Oropesa del Mar. It is a truncated-cone masonry tower, part of the system that watched this stretch of coast.
History
It went up in the 16th century to warn of attacks from the sea, in coordination with the castle and neighbouring towers. Its name recalls the crown-sponsored work. The coastal promenade passes by the tower, with benches to watch the sea and the beaches.
