El Vedat
A residential garden suburb built over a former pine forest on the Sierra Perenxisa, on the outskirts of Torrent. It has almost no monumental attractions, but a waymarked route through the pines makes it the district's closest green escape.
El Vedat spreads over the slopes of the Sierra Perenxisa, about 3 km west of Torrent town at some 100 metres of altitude. It is a garden suburb of villas among pines, and its worth lies in the surrounding woods. For L'Horta Sud, it offers a nearby escape into nature.

Before building, the pinewood stood closed to hunters and woodcutters, and the ban fixed the name. Early building dates back generations, including a telecom tower from 1848 still known as la Torreta, while the suburb filled with second homes chiefly between 1960 and 1970. The pines, meanwhile, never left.
The SL-CV 49 forest trail
A waymarked short distance path, the SL-CV 49, threads the forest belt with gentle gradients and no special kit required. An hour or two among trunks suits a free morning, with filtered light providing the scenery. Access costs nothing and the ground asks only for grippy shoes over earth and loose stone.
Walking it well
Early morning or late afternoon is suggested for walking, when heat loosens and trunks stripe the path. Carry water, respect the inhabited plots, and take every scrap back out. The Torreta is a telecommunications tower from 1848, part of the area's earliest building history before the later spread of second homes. It is a lived suburb as well as a wood, so quiet feet count double.
