What to see in Utiel
Utiel, about 72 km from València, is the second town of the Utiel-Requena plateau and shares with Requena the capital role of its wine route. With some 11,600 residents (2025), it lives off the Bobal planted on the plateau.
The morning joins the Gothic Asunción church (15th-16th centuries, heritage, with Baroque chapels) with the medieval underground cellars, visited from the tourist office. The afternoon calls for the Wine Museum in the 19th-century Bodega Redonda, the La Utielana bullring (1858, among the oldest) and, by car, the 16th-century Remedio sanctuary of the patron, in the sierra.
The plan fills a whole day, with a working winery to finish. Utiel names the Utiel-Requena.
The visit needs a whole day: Gothic Asunción and underground cellars from the tourist office in the morning, and Wine Museum in La Bodega Redonda, 1858 Utielana and Remedio sanctuary in the sierra in the afternoon. A working winery closes the day.
