On calle Montortal in Carcagente, the palace of the Marqués de Montortal is the manor house of the centre. It went up around 1780, was reformed in 1850 and has served municipal uses since 1993.
History
The palace began as a noble residence at the end of the 1700s and was updated in 1850 to the taste of the period. In 1993 it passed to the town council, which uses it for offices and events. It keeps 18th-century Valencian tiles and a tile-clad kitchen.
