The Pico del Remedio (1,054 m) is the local summit of Chelva, in Los Serranos, reached via the PR-CV 91 route, marked in white and yellow. The itinerary crosses the Rambla de Alcotas, one of the densest forests in the district and of geological interest, before reaching the sanctuary area. It is a full-day outing combining forest, hermitage and viewpoint.
The PR-CV 91 route
The route is circular, runs over 25 km and starts in the town of Chelva. It passes the fire station, follows the old Remedio road and reaches the medieval sanctuary of the Virgen del Remedio, patron saint of the municipality, with a rest area and leisure complex. From there it climbs to the Cruz del Remedio, a panoramic point over the whole Chelva valley and the surrounding mountains.
Tips for your visit
- It is a long walk of about 7 hours: bring enough water and food, plus mountain footwear.
- Set off with plenty of daylight and avoid the hottest hours in summer.
- You get there by car to Chelva; no public transport to the start is confirmed.
- Combine it another day with the Chelva Water Route or with the Turia gorges at Chulilla.
