What defines Ximo Michavila’s painting?
His work developed from geometric abstraction and constructivism towards abstract painting connected with landscape. The Albufera and the Túria were reference points for that phase, in which landscape became an exploration of forms, light and shade.
Michavila beyond painting
The artist also worked in mural painting, printmaking, stage design and stained glass. The relationship between painting and music formed part of his research, alongside that variety of techniques and media.
