Museo de Bellas Artes
Painting, sculpture and archaeology, with Valencian ceramics holdings. A modern building by the centre.
The Museum of Fine Arts of Castellón de la Plana brings together painting, sculpture and archaeology from the province. It occupies a modern 2001 building by the centre, with bright rooms for the permanent collection and temporary shows.
The collection
The holdings include Valencian painting from several periods, sculpture and a group of ceramics from the Plana pottery tradition. The archaeology section orders the sites of the surrounding area.
What to see
Walk the permanent rooms at ease and ask about the current temporary show. Pair the visit with the co-cathedral and El Fadrí, in the historic centre.
- Allow a whole morning if you stop in every room.
