La Cabrentà
Small municipal reserve of damp riverside woodland in the Sellent valley, with laurels, hackberry trees and birdsong a short walk from Estubeny.
La Cabrentà is a small municipal nature reserve tucked into the Sellent valley at Estubeny, in La Canal de Navarrés country. This patch of damp riverside woodland keeps laurels and hackberry trees alive in a gorge setting, with dense birdsong that sets it apart from the dry hills around it.
The walk
The reserve is signed from the edge of the village, only about 230 m from the centre, with a descent toward the Sellent valley floor. It is a short outing rather than a long hike, best visited slowly in spring, when the local guides describe the vegetation at its freshest.
Tips for your visit
Swimming is not documented here, so treat pools reported by hikers as unverified and do not count on bathing. Wear footwear with grip for the descent and carry water, as there are no services inside the reserve. You need a car to reach Estubeny, and the stop combines well with the Tres Salts de Anna route nearby.
