Mirador del Salto de Chella
A stone-railed viewpoint above the old town, facing the 25 m Salto, the Sellent riverbed and the cave-dotted cliffs.
The Mirador del Salto de Chella is a balcony with a stone railing above the old town of Chella. From it you look straight at the Salto, a drop of about 25 metres, with the Sellent riverbed below and the cave-filled cliffs on the far bank. On the far side of the riverbed, the caves dot the cliffs, and the Sellent runs entrenched below the viewpoint. It is the village’s main balcony over its most emblematic waterfall.
The visit
You park in the upper town and walk up along Senda Peña street, a short stroll of about 15 minutes suited to almost everyone. It is an urban viewpoint with no mountain trail, so it works at any hour of the day. In spring the falls run stronger and the view gains force.
Tips for your visit
Do not step past the railing and keep an eye on children, because the drop is sheer. The stop pairs well with Anna and its 3 Waterfalls route, a few minutes away by car. Carry water in summer, as the viewpoint has no shade.
