Cova del Rull
A municipal cave found in 1919 and open for visits since 1995, with stalactites and columns by the CV-712.
Cova del Rull is the show cave of Vall d'Ebo, in the Marina Alta, a short drive from the village on the CV-712. It was found in 1919 by José Vicente Mengual, known as uncle Rull: out hunting with his dog after a rabbit, the rabbit went into a hole, he sent a ferret in to flush it out and neither came back; the next day he shifted some stones and the cave bearing his nickname appeared. It belongs to the town council and is fitted for visits, in the same province as Oliva.
The history
In the sixties, with the tourism boom, uncle Rull opened it to the public with roughly fitted passages. The present cave, with stalactites and columns, has run as a guided visit since 16 September 1995. It is a small cave, so visits run in groups and last about an hour and a half including the drive.
