Torre de la Galera
Coastal watchtower declared an asset of cultural interest, on the shoreline road toward Calp, one of the two listed towers of the town.
On the shoreline road from Altea toward Calp, the Galera tower is the second coastal watchtower of the town declared an asset of cultural interest, after the Bellaguarda tower.
History
Like Bellaguarda, the Galera tower watched this section of coast from its shore position. The two towers worked as one defence line for the bay.
What to see
The tower is viewed from outside, on a drive or ride along the coast road, with the sea on one side and the hills of the Marina Alta on the other. It pairs with a stop in the old quarter of El Fornet and the Consuelo church.

- There is little shade by the road, so avoid midday in summer.
- Park with care on the shoreline road.
