On the hill above Ayora, the castle-palace of the Marqueses de Zenete, Dukes of the Infantado, joins fortress and residence. It keeps the walled enclosure and, at its foot, the church of Santa María.

History

The castle watched over the frontier town and was later adapted as the palace of the Marqueses de Zenete, kin of the Dukes of the Infantado. The enclosure keeps walls and spaces of the hilltop defensive complex.
